I bought the black Icarus Ascent Gen 2 in Jan 2019, 2.5 years ago. They really are the best casual/do-all barefoot shoe. I travel for work, flying 2 weeks per month. These shoes one my traveling staple. They look good dressed up or dressed down (as in ACTUALLY look good, not “look good for a barefoot shoe.” I’ve worn with nearly everything from shorts and tee shirt to slacks and button down. I’ve done pickleball, indoor volleyball, CrossFit gym, and many hotel gyms on the treadmill and free weights. Being black full leather, during the dog days of summer in July/Aug, I don’t end up wearing them much (when not in work boots, I’m in Shamma barefoot sandals or laced up in trail running or hiking shoes). If Icarus came out with a flyknit mesh, or really any other shoes, I’d buy them in a heartbeat. As it is, I’m still going strong after 2.5 years of casual wear, so I don’t have a reason to buy anymore right now. Icarus are a great fit, great quality, and great looks. Looking forward to some other options so I can buy more of your shoes!
