great elevated casual shoe
I bought these shoes for an upcoming trip to Paris because I wanted confortable walking shoes that were not running shoes. They don't seem like there will be much of a break in period and they have plenty of room in the toe box which is a must. I was even able to put a Sole brand cork insole in them temporarily for platar fasciitis relief on long days of walking. I look forward to being able to use the three insoles that came with the shoes to gradually transition back to barefoot once the plantar fasciitis calms and heals. The quality is amazing. We'll see how clean I can keep the white shoes with two young kids and lots of city living but regardless, I am very happy with my purchase!

first time barefoot shoes buyer
This was my first time buying a pair of barefoot shoes after my personal trainer recommended that I do so. I got the ascent gen 2 in white. I really like these shoes!! I was expecting a break in period, but after wearing them for a week I am sold, I really like these shoes. very comfortable, and they look as good on my feet as they do in the pictures. I'll be ordering a pair in black as well. I also like how you included the different insoles too, a nice touch. I think the next shoes you make should be a chukka boot in brown leather and a running shoe.

Alright boys — honest review on the Icarus kicks.
I had a pair of the Gen 1s and they were awesome. I literally wore them into the ground. Super comfortable right out of the box and I was constantly getting compliments. The maroon lace accent was a really nice touch too.
Just got the new pair and they’re definitely a bit stiffer at first and didn’t slide on quite as easily. I had to loosen the laces a little, but honestly just wearing them on the drive to the gym broke them in a good amount. They still have that amazing wide toe-box feel, but somehow look more streamlined on foot. My feet actually look smaller in these compared to most shoes which I like because a lot of shoes make me feel like I’m rocking clown feet.
One thing I noticed is the toe box flex isn’t quite as forgiving as Gen 1. Movements like Bulgarian split squats or deep toe-flexion stuff feel a little uncomfortable but it's only day one. But if you’re not doing that kind of training, it probably just means fewer creases and longer-lasting shape.
Also — the packaging is next level. Multiple insole options, extra laces, socks, toe spacers… honestly wild value for $140.
Overall, Icarus absolutely nailed it. Great shoe. I’m pumped to see more colorways. Earth tones, charcoal, khaki… I’d wear these everywhere. They look legit.

Perfect Shoe
So far this shoe exceeds all expectations. I've tried a lot of "barefoot" style shoes over the years, and really have a hard time finding ones that look decent enough to wear all the time. And I saw a crossfitter wearing these, not even knowing they were barefoot style, I just liked the looks of them. So I bought them and they are perfect! I can spread my feet out, and they look really cool. If they wear in well, I'll see myself wearing these out and continually keep coming back for these shoes in the future.
Really nice shoes. Can double as weightlifting shoes. But good for dinner, casual, even dressier, and church. Multi application. I would go cushier on the thick inserts they come with, but receiving multiple inserts and a return label at the delivery was next level. I’ll buy more.
Great feeling shoe. And great looking shoe. The letter included in the box was a great intro to the philosophy and brand. Very much appreciated, as are the additional insoles to tweak the fit. Thank you.

I'm a chiropractor and crossfitter and was looking for a shoe to hold up for work and the gym, and these far surpassed my expectations! These are hands down the best minimalist sneaker I've ever owned. They not only look cool (I've already gotten several compliments on them from my wife lol) but they also are super functional for gym stuff. Already planning on buying another pair to keep cleaner for work. Buy em if you wanna look good and feel good!
The fit is perfect and the space makes all the difference. My new favorite shoe.
