Most people don't realize that regular socks actually have the same constricting effect on your toes that conventional shoes do. You bought minimalist shoes for all the additional real-estate inside the toe-box, but don't actually use it! Toe socks are specifically designed to allow your toes to fully splay out, while still providing a snug, secure fit in the arch and heel area. If your mind was blown at how comfortable your feet can be inside a shoe, get ready to get your mind blown again after trying toe socks for the first time. Once you make the switch, you won't go back to regular socks.
Our socks are designed for general purpose wear, whether it's walking around the house, walking around the block, or working out at the gym. Our material blend is designed to be comfortable, breathable, and durable. Using 200 gauge knitting machines, we achieve a tight, durable weave construction and soft feel on your feet. These serve as a perfect compliment to our shoes or any other minimalist (or conventional) shoes on the market.
Our socks are offered in unisex sizing. Please reference the sizing guide below. If you fall outside these sizes, our socks will likely fit too loose or too tight.
Small: US Men's 5.5-7.5; US Women's 7-8.5

Large: US Men's 11-13; US Women's 12-14.5

Now happy owner of both the white and black Ascent Gen 2. Also bought toe socks and also high quality and perfect fit. Great products
These socks are so comfortable, they’re my new favorites. I’m glad I got them.
I've been wearing toe socks for years, and these from Icarus are some of highest quality and most comfortable I've found. I also love that they don't have any sort of obnoxious logo above the ankle like most other brands do. My only wish is that they came in other lengths as I often need crew length or boot length when wearing different shoes
Wish they came in white!
I'm in toe heaven with these bad boys. Wasn't sure how I'd like the toe socks since I've never used them, but they let my toes splay out to use the entire toe box of my Icarus Ascent Gen2s. Couldn't be happier with the quality of the socks. Highly recommend!
Alright boys — honest review on the Icarus kicks.
I had a pair of the Gen 1s and they were awesome. I literally wore them into the ground. Super comfortable right out of the box and I was constantly getting compliments. The maroon lace accent was a really nice touch too.
Just got the new pair and they’re definitely a bit stiffer at first and didn’t slide on quite as easily. I had to loosen the laces a little, but honestly just wearing them on the drive to the gym broke them in a good amount. They still have that amazing wide toe-box feel, but somehow look more streamlined on foot. My feet actually look smaller in these compared to most shoes which I like because a lot of shoes make me feel like I’m rocking clown feet.
One thing I noticed is the toe box flex isn’t quite as forgiving as Gen 1. Movements like Bulgarian split squats or deep toe-flexion stuff feel a little uncomfortable but it's only day one. But if you’re not doing that kind of training, it probably just means fewer creases and longer-lasting shape.
Also — the packaging is next level. Multiple insole options, extra laces, socks, toe spacers… honestly wild value for $140.
Overall, Icarus absolutely nailed it. Great shoe. I’m pumped to see more colorways. Earth tones, charcoal, khaki… I’d wear these everywhere. They look legit.
So far this shoe exceeds all expectations. I've tried a lot of "barefoot" style shoes over the years, and really have a hard time finding ones that look decent enough to wear all the time. And I saw a crossfitter wearing these, not even knowing they were barefoot style, I just liked the looks of them. So I bought them and they are perfect! I can spread my feet out, and they look really cool. If they wear in well, I'll see myself wearing these out and continually keep coming back for these shoes in the future.
Love the shoes - comfortable and fit my arched insoles nicely for my plantar fasciitis.
Leather is nice quality and I can tell I'll love them more as they break in and loosen up.
Thanks for the teachers discount - I expect them to last me a long time but I'll definitely purchase again down the line.
I purchased two pairs of the Gen 2 leather trainers and I’ve gotta tell you I am blown away. These are absolutely my favorite sneakers I’ve owned. I’ve been wearing the Correct Toes toe spacers for a couple of years now and have been consistently struggling to find a high quality pair of shoes that actually allowed me to continue using the spacers while wearing. I’m happy to report that my search is over! These kicks look great, are plenty wide for whichever spacers you prefer (the Correct Toes are one of the larger/bulkier options and they fit comfortably), and are constructed of clearly premium materials. I eagerly look forward to years of wearing the product and supporting the brand. Can’t wait to see what they come up with next! Thank you Icarus for bringing such a great shoe to the wide-toe market.
Best quality/cost factor in barefoot market. I LOVE these shoes. I have them in white/red and black/gold and they are my go to for work and going out. I know others work out in them but I opted for longer use, and they did not disappoint. Purchased in 12/22 and still wearing the same white/red shoes and black/gold I got through pre-order. Can not be happier. Shoe pics from a post cleaning 2.5 years after purchase.
I had a pair of the Gen 1s and they were awesome. I literally wore them into the ground. Super comfortable right out of the box and I was constantly getting compliments. The maroon lace accent was a really nice touch too. At one point I tried soaking them to clean them (terrible idea) and they basically fell apart — but that’s on me, not the shoe.

First of all. There was a hand signed letter by the owner with appreciation and instructions on fit and the purpose of the different insoles. I really appreciate that. Packaging is 10/10.
The quality of these shoes is awesome, they feel sturdy. The leather feels nice and durable, they're a good foot shape that's nice and comfortable.
I will say that the mid foot feels snug, not tight, but snug; so if you have a wide mid foot they may feel a bit tight in that area but they also loosened a bit with break in and a thinner insole also helps give you a bit of extra room.
The looks are better than any I've seen, great classic sneaker look, the perforated leather in the middle looks great.
Overall really happy I went with these, they're an honest company, with a quality product. Happy to support them, I'll be getting a second pair
Absolutely brilliant. I credit these shoes in playing a big part in my recovery from chronic metatarsalgia. Back to playing football again. Particularly loved the slightly thicker insole which was perfect for me. Only complaint is waiting for them to get my size back in stock so I can order another pair!
Solid Shoe. Love the wide toe box to let my toes splay and breath (not literally). Sole has good grip and traction. And the design is sleek and minimalistic. I would have preferred a lower ankle cut as my pants bunch up on the break, but that's my fault and can be corrected with cuffing my pants. Love the accessories that it came with. All in all, it is a solid shoe. Would rate it a 4.5/5 stars
Bought these shoes in June 2025, was impressed with insole and lace options. After 8 months of wear the sole stitching on one shoe is coming a little loose, other than that one issue though. These shoes have been phenomenal, my back, hip, knee pain have all been reduced a good bit. They've helped improve my posture while standing, and being on my feet for 8+ hrs daily these are a life saver. Hands down some of the most comfortable shoes i have owned!
