The wide toebox lets your toes splay, and the thin, flexible outsole lets you feel the ground and activate your foot muscles when standing and moving.
Most shoes are thicker under your heel than under your toes, causing your heels to be elevated. Zero-drop means there is no difference in outsole thickness between the front of your foot and the back of your foot.

We found that customers who size up always wonder if a smaller size might fit better. If you are international, then we recommend sizing up because of the expenses involved with returns.
The Ascent offers noticeably more cushion than most barefoot shoes, so healthy adults generally do not require a transition period. However, everyone is different, so listen to your feet!
